Last Updated on April 5, 2019 Author:Gabrielle Monet

partypoker has confirmed that the world’s largest online poker tournament will return this year and once again offer the same gigantic, record-breaking guarantee.

partypoker’s MILLIONS Online tournament will kick off in late November and wind up in early December, running in the same time frame for the third consecutive year.

The first ever partypoker MILLIONS Online event happened in December 2017 with a guaranteed prize pool of $5 million shared among the top 104 finishers. The inaugural event attracted a field of 1,027 entries for a buy-in of $5,300.

The final table saw a heads-up battle between “N0-|PTRI4|2I” and Jon “sordykrd” Van Fleet, with the latter eventually emerging as the winner, taking home $1,027,000 as top prize. “N0-|PTRI4|2I” netted $651,118 for his runner-up finish.

In 2018, MILLIONS Online returned with a massive guarantee of $20 million – the largest guarantee to date in the online poker tournament scene. This was a game changer as the guarantee was much bigger than any of the online tournaments that PokerStars hosted. Given the fact that PokerStars is the number one online poker website in the world, partypoker made a huge splash in the market with its Millions Online.

The initial guarantee of $20 Million was surpassed by over $1.8 million after the total number of entries reached 4, 367, thanks to an extensive marketing campaign and satellite schedule which partypoker ran before the huge online event.

Manuel “Sheparentao” Ruivo won the event and took home $2,329,943 while second placer Pim “ForMatherRussia” de Goede took home $2,309,994.

Bigger Things In Store For 2019

This year is poised to be another massive one for partypoker as it prepares to repeat the challenge with the same $20 million guarantee. While the full details of the 2019 edition have not been released yet, partypoker’s website has started displaying the tournament dates: November 24 – December 4.

There are reports that partypoker will increase the buy-in for this year’s MILLIONS Online from $5,300 to $10,300. This was suggested in recent articles addressing partypoker’s Diamond Club Elite which stated that members are entitled to a $10,300 buy-in to MILLIONS Online, plus a Caribbean Poker Party VIP package worth $16,000. However, partypoker is yet to confirm the official buy-in to Millions Online.

Unlike the last two years, partypoker has hinted that the 2019 MILLIONS Online will not take place on its own, and will instead run as a headline event in an online festival that will feature massive guarantees.
