The Poker Hall of Fame (PHoF) currently has 60 members and none of them are more respected than Doyle ‘The Godfather of Poker’ Brunson. The 88 year old poker pro does not play as much poker as he did in years past but is still very active on social media and has close to 400k followers on Twitter.

The 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is currently taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada and there’s a buzz of activity taking place at Bally’s, the new home of the WSOP. The highlight of the WSOP is always the $10,000 Main Event which takes place at the end of the tournament.

The winner of the 2022 WSOP Main Event is guaranteed to walk away with millions and a prestigious WSOP gold bracelet. A few weeks back, Doyle Brunson said that he was unlikely to make an appearance at the WSOP given the fact that there were a number of COVID-19 positive cases at the WSOP.

Brunson took to Twitter this week to inform his fans that he was very keen on playing the WSOP Main Event provided the number of COVID cases dropped in the next few weeks.

The poker community cheered the news as they would love to see the legend in person at the 2022 WSOP and see if he can win his 11th WSOP gold bracelet.

Doyle Brunson Signs As New WPT Brand Ambassador

The poker world was also presently surprised this week when news broke that the World Poker Tour (WPT) had signed Brunson as their latest brand ambassador. The WPT already has an impressive brand ambassador list which features the likes of world famous DJ Steve Aoki, poker vloggers Brad Owen and Andrew Neeme.

WPT CEO Adam Pliska said that they were very happy to welcome Brunson to their team and felt that it was surreal to see the 88 year old represent the WPT brand. Pliska said he was present in 2004 when Brunson went on to win the WPT Legends of Poker tournament and also when he became a part of the WPT Champions Club.
