Mike Sexton Calls On Jeopardy! Star To Partner At WSOP Tag Team Event

Mike Sexton certainly needs no introduction to the global poker community as his accomplishments on and off the poker field speak for themselves. Sexton is the chairman of partypoker – the second biggest online poker website in the world.

He has been instrumental in reviving the fortunes of partypoker and helping the brand win the EGR Poker Operator Year of the Awards in 2017 and 2018.

Mike Sexton is also an accomplished poker player with more than $6.6 million in live tournament winnings according to the Hendon Mob.

WSOP Tag Team No-Limit Hold’em

The partypoker chairman is expected to take part in the $1,000 Tag Team No-Limit Hold’em event and has decided to call on Jeopardy! superstar James Holzhauer to partner him and represent the partypoker brand at the WSOP.

Sexton is a huge fan of Jeopardy and has been keeping a close watch on Holzhauer who came so very close earlier this month to breaking the all-time money record on the show. He won 32 games in a row to bring his winnings to $2,462,216 before he lost and fell $58,484 short of the record held by Ken Jennings.

James Holzhauer has agreed to partner Sexton and get involved at the 2019 WSOP. He is no stranger to the game of poker as he is friendly with a number of top professional poker pros who have won WSOP gold bracelets. Some of them include Ben Yu and his former roommate Jameson Painter.

Holzhauer has taken a few quick poker lessons from his friends as he did not want to make a fool of himself at the WSOP. However, given his prowess at Jeopardy, one can expect him to have a decent run at the WSOP – although he will be playing only a few selective events.

Holzhauer Will Generate 50 Percent To Charity

Holzhauer is a very competitive player and he will be eager to cashout at the WSOP as he has agreed to donate 50 percent of his winnings to charity. Any winnings will be given to Project 150 which focuses on helping homeless teenagers who need a helping hand in just about every area.

Mike Sexton has taken it upon himself to make Holzhauer feel comfortable at the 2019 WSOP. He has also extended an invite for Holzhauer to take part in the $10,000 partypoker Millions Main Event which has a $5M guaranteed prize pool. The event takes place in the Bahamas In November 2019.
