Lock Poker Receives Letter From The PPA Requesting For Clarity

Lock PokerLock Poker has faced numerous problems over the past few years and they are not going away anytime soon. One of the biggest challenges for Lock Poker was the fact that it had not remitted outstanding payments to its players and the withdrawal options were taking forever. The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) has sent an official letter to Lock Poker and raised a number of valid questions based on player concerns.

The open letter asks Lock Poker to be transparent about its operations and requests them to respond to all of the questions that were raised. The PPA is focused on keeping all of its members updated about problems and issues that various poker websites face. The PPA also looks to provide as much information as possible to players regarding their outstanding funds and the probability of when and how it will be reimbursed.

Lock Poker currently owes more than 50 players and needs to pay close to a $1 million in dues to players. The oldest pending cashout is reported to be as far back as the 25th of Nov 2012.

Lock Poker had a number of cashout problems and had to leave the Revolution Gaming network in October 2013 due to these concerns. The network is suing Lock Poker as there is a large outstanding debt and the network wants to start the recovery process at the earliest. Lock Poker now has its own network and is advertising very attractive withdrawal times, which the PPA deem inaccurate.

The PPA says that Lock Poker must be more open and inform new players that there is an existing situation where cash withdrawals are a concern and players need to be aware of the same before they sign up.

The PPA raised four important questions and is looking forward to a response from Lock Poker.

  1. Does Lock Poker keep players’ funds segregated from operating funds? If so, what mechanism is used to accomplish this separation?
  2. Does Lock Poker have, or will it be implementing, a system to organize its payment processing so that those who have been waiting the longest will be given priority in future payments?
  3. Does Lock Poker have a timeline of its plan to pay its players in full?
  4. Will Lock Poker immediately provide open, accurate, up-to-date information regarding time required to process customer withdrawal requests?

The PPA will wait for Lock Poker to reply to its letter, failing which the PPA will send out direct warnings to all of its members and caution them from dealing with Lock Poker due to the current situation.
