World Series of Poker EuropeThe World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) is set to take place at Kings Casino from Nov 19 to Dec 23 in Rozvadov, Czech Republic.

Kings Casino has the biggest poker room in Europe and is expecting a strong turnout during the WSOPE as there has been little to no poker action in most parts of Europe for the last 18 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021 WSOP which is currently on-going at the Rio in Las Vegas is only permitting full vaccinated players to enter the live poker tournament. The 2021 WSOPE will have a different set of rules as both fully vaccinated and unvaccinated players will be allowed entry with conditions.

First, let us talk about fully vaccinated players. These are players who need to be vaccinated a minimum of 14 days before attending the WSOPE. The accepted vaccinates are Moderna, Novavax, Pfizer, Sanofi-GSK, AstraZeneca and CureVac and you must show proof of taking two shots via your EU Digital COVID Certificate. If you have taken the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen Pharmaceuticals, then it’s just proof of one shot.

If you have contracted COVID-19 and recovered in the last 180 days, you need to be able to show proof of the same. Unvaccinated players will need to show a PCR test that was taken less than 3 days before you arrived at the WSOPE. You can also show proof of a negative anti-gen test that must be taken less than 24 hours before you arrive at the WSOPE.

COVID Cases Climb In October

A number of countries have reported an increase in COVID-19 cases in October and the Czech Republic was one of them. Adam Vojtěch, health minister for the Czech Republic recently announced that it would now be mandatory for all businesses and entertainment venues to verify COVID passes from Nov 1.

Only verified individuals should be allowed into their establishments. These COVID passes were issued in June 2021 in the Czech Republic but most venues have been slack in their verification procedures. A special task force will go around and carry out sudden checks from Nov 1 to see if businesses are following COVID-19 protocols.

Even with the increase in COVID-19 cases, Kings Casino is confident that it will be able to run a successful 2021 WSOPE based on the regulations and precautions they are taking at the venue and the new ones being rolled out by the government.
