Jeff Gross To Don The 888poker Patch For 2016 WSOP

Poker pro Jeff Gross has been recently brought on board by 888poker to represent the brand in the ongoing season of World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas.

Gross has to his credit around $2.5 million as live earnings and $872,755 of that prize money comes from cashes and final table finishes at the WSOP.

Dubbed as the Professional Best Friend by fellow poker pro and close friend Antonio Esfandiari, Jeff Gross is known as a nice guy who has befriended a number poker pros often appearing in support when any of them start running deep.

Some of his closest friends apart from Esfandiari include high-profile players such as Bill Perkins, Dan Colman, Brain Rast and Olympian Michael Phelps.

Gross showed up earlier in the week at the fifth starting flight of the $565 Colossus II tournament in WSOP wearing the 888poker patch. In a statement Gross said,

It’s great. I had been involved in negotiations with them and done some home game stuff with them, so when they asked me of course, yes. It’s a reputable brand. I know some of those guys, so it’s awesome. I’m really excited to be a part of the team.

Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Gross is enjoying his run in this year’s WSOP. He has said that he is looking to take part in the entire range of games starting from events with $500 buy-ins to ones with $111,000 buy-ins.

Gross added that he particularly enjoyed the atmosphere at the WSOP which he said was somewhat akin to a summer camp. He liked the fact that all kinds of tournaments were happening at one place removing the need for travel. Gross expressed his admiration for fellow player Rainer Kempe who was seen to join the Colossus tournament the next morning after winning the $300,000 in the 2016 Super High Roller Bowl. Gross is looking to adopt a similar mentality as he approaches this year’s WSOP.

Gross recently started a Twitch channel and has said that he believes that the platform is the future. He said that he was inspired by players like Jason Somerville, Kevin Martin and Jaime Staples to start his own channel. Gross stated that it was hard to put up regular updates as a result of his constant travel but he plans to post more regularly this summer. He currently has around 12,000 subscribers on his channel. According to Gross, Twitch has made poker fun again as it offers a unique experience and allows direct interaction with people.
