Jason Koon Joins GGPoker To Help Strengthen U.S. Presence

Jason KoonGGPoker continues to give PokerStars stiff competition in the U.S online poker market by making strategic movies that has enabled the online poker operator to topple PokerStars from the top spot in terms of cash game traffic.

GGPoker has made another big move after announcing at the 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) that it has signed high stakes poker player Jason Koon to its list of brand ambassadors.

Jason Koon was a brand ambassador at rival partypoker till July 2021 when he parted ways. Koon is best known as a high stakes poker player who has done very well for himself at the Triton High Stakes Poker Series.


The West Virginian poker player has over $32.5 million in live career prize money according to the Hendon Mob with his biggest live cashout coming during the 2018 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series when he won over $3.5 million. Koon currently sits in 7th place on the U.S All Time Money list and in 10th place on the global All Time Money list.

Jason Koon’s last major cashout was in Sep 2021 when he took second place at the $50,000 No Limit Hold’em event at the PokerMasters tournament and cashed out $442,000. Koon has also done very well for himself playing online poker over the years and his last major online poker win was at the 2020 WSOP Online Series on GGPoker when he finished in 7th place at the $ 25,000 NLH Poker Players Championship, $10M GTD (Event #70) and won $ 285,808.

GGPoker Strengths Brand Ambassador Pool

GGPoker already has an impressive pool of brand ambassadors which include Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Daniel Negreanu, Dan Bilzerian and Fedor Holz. Apart from being big names in the poker community, all of these players enjoy high stakes games just like Koon.

Daniel Negreanu welcomed Koon to GGPoker and said it was a great signing by GGPoker as Koon is one of the most respected poker players in the community and is known for his high standard of ethics. John Scanlon, GGPoker’s director of sponsorships and live events shared those same sentiments.

Scanlon said Koon’s reputation and how he handles himself spoke volumes in the global poker market. GGPoker will leverage his reputation and game integrity to promote their brand in both the U.S and global poker market.
