Indian Poker Players Gear Up For DPT Xpress In Sikkim

Adda52 which is one of the biggest poker operators in India has just announced that they will host their inaugural Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) in Sikkim.

The DPT is set to be Adda52’s flagship event. The DPT Xpress tournament will be held in the Deltin Denzong Casino in Gangtok’s Hotel Denzong Regency between September 27th and 30th.

The DPT Xpress will have relatively low buy-ins that will range between 5,000 to 15,000 rupees. A Rs.5,000 buy-in “Burn N Turn” tournament will be held on the first day and a Rs.10,000 buy-in 10K Bounty Nuggets will be held on day 2. The main event is going to be a Rs. 15,000 buy-in event on September 29th . The lower buy-ins are designed to attract newer poker players along with those who are up and coming. Organizers are offering “Play N Stay” packages that will give players transportation and accommodation throughout the event.

There will be a players’ choice event on September 30th but the type of game and the format has not been announced yet. The company says that they are looking for feedback from players before they make their decision. It is likely that it will be either a Team event, Heads up event or a satellite tournament for the World Poker Tournament India which is coming up in November.

DPT Growing

Manish Adnani, who is the Business Head of poker at Delta Corp Ltd was very pleased with how the DPT has grown since its inception in 2016. Just a little over two years ago, they had just one series that attracted all types of players from recreational to pro. Their DPT Colossus drew a number of high rollers back in April and this upcoming event should help the brand grow even more.

There are many players who regularly participate in cash games but they never enter DPT events because of the higher buy-ins. The DPT Xpress is specifically aimed at these players with the hope that they take advantage of the lower buy-ins and get to experience the thrill of tournament play as well as enjoying their time in an entertaining and beautiful city like Sikkim.

The 10K Bounty and the 15K Main Event will be broadcast via live stream and they hope to give everyone a great experience. Entering 2019, the will have DPT, DPT Colossus and DPT Xpress which will appeal to a wide range of players in the Indian poker playing community.
