GGMastersThe GGMasters Player of the Year race has become more intense, with the top 10 players separated by only 300 points!

By the end of the year, the person at the top of the rankings will be in for a lot of prizes.

The winner will become a GGPoker Ambassador, joining the network’s elite team of poker pros, which include Poker Hall of Famer Daniel Negreanu, Brazilian poker star Felipe Ramos, poker world champion and esports player Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier and current All-Time Money List leader Bryn Kenney.

The current frontrunner in the GGMasters POY race is Ricardo “M@cacoCidadao” Nascimento of Brazil, who has so far earned 1,698.28 points. He has been at the top of the leaderboard for a number of weeks already, but there is real chance a new leader might emerge next week, with Singapore’s “Interlace” closely behind him with 1,609.90 points. Interlace won $53,324 after taking down the May 17 edition of the GGMasters.

China’s “gokchinees” is currently at No. 3, with 1,533.83 points. The Chinese player won the GGMasters last week, outclassing a final table comprised of nine different nationalities. He walked away with $72,417 following a heads-up deal with Ecuador’s “bangbang!“.

Vladiator13” from Lithuania is at No. 4 with 1,510.89 points, followed by Canada’s “Luka Donkbet” at No. 5 with 1,510.80 points. “Strong Mentality“, “DaleRose“, Ryan “getplunted” Plant, “mike444” and “DaniLeigh“, round up the top 10.

The person who will win the GGMasters POY title will win a $500,000 sponsorship package, but the remaining spots in the top 10 aren’t left out either, as each of them will earn free entries to all GG Masters tournaments for the entire 2021. If the $150 buy-in stays throughout next year, the second to 10th placers will each secure $7,800, in the form of free tickets.

Lots of Chances To Take Part

The points for the GGMasters POY leaderboard are calculated using the formula: f*sqrt(Prize pool/k). “f” represents your finishing position. You get 1 if you finish in the money, 1.5 if you make the final table, and 2 if you ultimately take down the tournament. You’ll be awarded 0.5 if you become the bubble player.

You have plenty of chances to take part in the action, with dozens of satellites taking place daily for as low as $1.50. GGPoker is also giving you the opportunity to sell a portion of your action via their in-built staking software which automatically gets everything done on your behalf, once you make the money. You still have over six months to take a shot at this huge race! For more details, visit the GGPoker website.
