Poker Hall of FameThe World Series of Poker (WSOP) has opened up the fan voting process for the 2021 Poker Hall Of Fame. This year, the WSOP will induct the 60th member of the PHoF and will hold a special ceremony at the 2021 WSOP which is currently taking place at the Rio in Las Vegas.

The WSOP announced that the 2021 PHoF winner will be announced during the 1,979 Poker Hall of Fame Bounty No-Limit Hold’em set to take place on Nov 17. Fans are encouraged to send in their votes online and have time to do so will Oct 14.

Fans will have to go to https://www.wsop.com/phof/ and fill out a short form that should take less than 5 minutes. They will have to enter the name of the player or non-player they are nominating and provide a reason as to why they think they should be the next member of the PHoF.

Do keep in mind that you can only vote for individuals who meet the PHoF nomination criteria. You can vote for players provided they are over 40 years of age at the time of nomination, have played poker for a long period of time, have a consistent track record of playing high stakes poker, are respected by their peers and have a good reputation in the global poker community.

You can also vote for a non-player who must also be over 40 and has made a long lasting impact on the game of poker. The Poker Hall of Fame Governing Council will go through the nominations and shortlist the 10 nominees with the most votes. The top 10 votes will then go to the existing PHoF members who will vote and decide who the next inductee is.

Potential Nominees For 2021 PHoF

The WSOP cut down the number of inductees into the PHoF from 2 to 1 in 2020. The WSOP made this move as it wanted to be more selective in who was inducted as it did not want to bring in great names but legends. Huck Seed who won the WSOP Main Event in 1996 was the 2020 inductee.

Some of the names that are expected to receive a nomination from the fans include Antonio Esfandiari, Mike Matusow, Matt Savage, Chris Ferguson, Isai Scheinberg, Ted Forrest and Eli Elezra. The WSOP is expected to announce the names of the top 10 nominees by the end of the month.
