  • A $5 million freeroll tournament on December 13-15 during the World Championship Festival.
  • The ClubWPT Gold $5M Invitational Freeroll will be held at the Wynn; first place is guaranteed $1M.

A new year, a new record. That’s the way the World Poker Tour (WPT) seems to be rolling when it comes to setting historical records.

Their latest announcement regarding the upcoming $5 million poker freeroll tournament scheduled for December comes just one year after they hosted the record-setting WPT World Championship tournament with a $10,400 buy-in and $40 million guaranteed.

Last year’s event drew in 3,835 entrants and was won by Bloomington, Indiana-born with over $8.5 million in total live earnings Dan Sepiol who took home $5.3 million.

The impressive figures should give us a glimpse of what’s to expect between December 13-15 when the WPT expects thousands of players to join the ClubWPT Gold $5M Invitational Freeroll

As part of the WPT World Championship Festival held at the Wynn Las Vegas, the massive freeroll tournament will feature a first-place guarantee of at least $1 million.

“Aiming for Another First for the Poker World”

The epic tournament, which was born as a collaboration between ClubWPT Gold and the World Poker Tour, will kickstart one day ahead of the third annual WPT World Championship.

The event will also celebrate the launch of ClubWPT Gold, which is WPT’s new platform aimed at the sweepstakes poker market in the United States (46 states excluding Idaho, Michigan, Montana, and Washington) and Canada (except Quebec).

The site, which resembles the longstanding ClubWPT platform, will enable players to compete for prizes using Gold Coins which do not incur any monetary value, as well as Sweeps Coins that can be obtained through a variety of promotional methods like free entry mode or cash and prize redemption.

As explained by chief executive officer and president Adam Pliska, their comeback to Wynn Las Vegas in December will also be used as a means to celebrate the launch of ClubWPT Gold with “another first for the poker world with the largest freeroll ever offered”.

Pliska called the new freeroll

Another monumental investment into the development and growth of not only the WPT World Championship, but the poker industry as a whole

2,000 Seats Into the Invitational Freeroll Available

Players looking to earn their seats in the freeroll need to obtain a “Golden Passport” on ClubWPT Gold by registering on the social poker platform.

No less than 2,000 seats will be awarded into the Invitational Freeroll between September 24 and December 13 via contests, promotions, and giveaways aimed at ClubWPT Gold members.

Poker pro and WPT Global ambassador Jamie Kerstetter also took it to X to announce a promotion for players eager to join the freeroll via a raffle featuring over $50,000 worth of tickets.

Besides the massive first prize, the top 500 finishers will receive a consolation prize (1 in 5 can expect to win a live poker tournament entry worth $10,400) along with a mystery bounty component.

While the official date has not yet been announced, players may start playing their favorite poker variants on the new platform at the beginning of 2025.

For the time being, anyone interested can use pre-registration on ClubWPT Gold to benefit from the invite-only preview of the platform set for December 2024.

The WPT will broadcast the final table live on TV.
