Chris MoneymakerThe M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas will host the third edition of the Hollywood Poker Open Championship on the 26th of June 2015. The championship will feature a special $2,500 buy-in event that has a $500,000 guarantee and tournament organizers are expecting a total prize pool in excess of $2 million.

The 2015 World Series of Poker (WSOP) championship is currently taking place at the Rio Convention Center in Las Vegas and professional poker players from all over the world have flown in to be a part of the WSOP. The Hollywood Poker Open (HPO) will attract a number of these professional players who will want to have a crack at the $500,000 guarantee.

Professional poker player and HPO Ambassador Chris Moneymaker will be present at the event and will also provide commentary during the main event. Moneymaker has been an ambassador for the last two seasons and believes this year the tournament will be bigger and better.

The 2003 World Series of Poker champion states that the HPO pays special interest to player feedback and then works hard to implement ideas and suggestions that are feasible. Moneymaker who has been playing the poker circuit for well over a decade is experienced enough to say that the HPO’s tournament structure is extremely strong and the entrance fees really low to enable as many poker players as possible to take part and seize the opportunity to win large cash prizes.

Moneymaker said that most poker tournaments treat players like cattle as they want to get in as many people as possible, take their money and then close the event. The HPO was very different and also attracted a different type of poker player. Poker players on most tours are extremely tensed and are only focused on winning, whereas HPO poker players tend to have a lot more fun and play in a relaxed manner.

In a statement, Chris Moneymaker said

I think there’s a lot more relaxed vibe on the tour. At some of these other tours, it’s all business. The players are very serious, tense and it’s not very fun. But with the Hollywood Poker Open, we attract the players who are out to enjoy themselves. These aren’t grinders, these are the weekend warriors who still love to play the game and are looking for an opportunity to play in a great event. It’s a blast
