Canadian poker players are eagerly waiting the start of the Ontario Championship of Online Poker (ONCOOP)!

The festival kicks off on October 1 and runs through October 17, featuring CAD 2 million in guarantees. PokerStars has just released the full schedule of the massive festival which means Ontarians can finally choose which events to play and arrange their schedules accordingly.

ONCOOP – Key Details

The inaugural ONCOOP features a total of 134 individual tournaments split into two levels, Low and High, with buy-ins ranging from CAD 5 to CAD 2,000. There are plenty of poker variants and formats available apart from the traditional No-Limit Hold’em. They include Omaha, Stud, Mixed games, and Short Deck.

PokerStars Ontario has been operating for just three months now but has already hosted three tournament series. ONCOOP will become the fourth. The site will be hosting Second Chance Freerolls throughout the festival worth CAD 35,000.

Apart from the regular prize pools, ONCOOP also comes with a Platinum Pass giveaway! Two lucky winners will win a Platinum Pass worth $30,000 which will send them to the second edition of the prestigious PokerStars Players NL Hold’em Championship (PSPC) which will take place in the Bahamas in January 2023.

As with any other festival, ONCOOP is headlined by the Main Event. The Low version of the tournament has an entry fee of $50 and guarantees $40,000, while the High edition costs $500 to enter and features $200,000 in guaranteed prize money, one of the largest tournament guarantees offered in Ontario since it launched its online poker market in April this year.

The schedule also includes a High Roller tournament which has a buy-in of $2,000 and comes with a $90,000 guarantee.

Two Platinum Passes Up For Grabs

Players can win extra prizes via multiple promotions running on PokerStars Ontario to mark the launch of the inaugural ONCOOP. There will be a Player of the Series Leaderboard wherein the overall winner will receive a Platinum Pass. Each tier, Low and High, also has its own leaderboard with another $33,500 in prizes up for grabs.

PokerStars Ontario will also be holding an ONCOOP Prize Draw which comes with $50,000 in additional prizes, plus another Platinum Pass. All players participating in the series will be eligible for the draw scheduled for October 19.

The special promotions running as part of ONCOOP will give away more than $150,000 in extra prizes which is a great way for Ontario poker players to boost their bankroll.
