The 49th World Series of Poker (WSOP) is now underway and poker players from all over the world have come down to Las Vegas to try and win at the 2018 WSOP.

With a record number of 78 official gold bracelets, live and online, there are tons of opportunities for players to win tons of money.

While American pros will have an upper hand playing on their home turf, here are some UK and European pros who are expected to bring their A-game to the WSOP and are definitely players to watch out for.

Stephen Chidwick

Certainly one of the most formidable players at this year’s WSOP will be Stephen Chidwick. The Brit comes to the tournament with a whopping $16.5 million in live earnings and $5 million in online winnings.

What’s really impressive about Chidwick is the form that he has been in this year as he has won $6.5 million from his plays this year. Chidwick has never won a WSOP gold bracelet till date and is looking to change that at the 2018 WSOP. He is currently the number 1 in GPI standings with 3,775.44 points ahead of top poker pros such as Adrian Mateos and Justin Bonomo.

Niall Farrell

Niall Farrell has yet to win a WSOP bracelet in Las Vegas.

He has however notched up a number of impressive victories at the WSOP Europe in 2017, the WPT Caribbean in 2016 and the EPT Malta in 2015.

Farrell has a total of $5.07 million in live earnings and a nice $3.11 million in online winnings and will be looking to bring a WSOP gold bracelet to Scotland.

Conor Beresford

Conor Beresford has been more active in the online sphere that on the live circuit and that could work to his advantage in the upcoming WSOP.

The WSOP has schedule online events with gold bracelets at prizes and Beresford should be able to do well in these events.

Beresford is currently ranked second in the world for online poker tournaments.

Sean Prendiville

Another online star who will be trying to conquer the live circuit is Sean Prendiville.

He is the number one poker player in Ireland who will also try to dominate the WSOP online poker events.

He recently won the $215 Sunday Supersonic and the $1,050 Turbo Series to bump up his total online winnings to $1.8 million.

Toby Lewis

A strong competitor to Beresford and Prendiville in the upcoming online bracelet events is Toby Lewis, a British pro who has an astounding—albeit mysterious—history in the online poker sphere.

But unlike Beresford, Lewis has been able to translate his success in the online poker rooms to the felt, winning a number of titles in multiple live tournaments around the world.

His latest victory was at the 2018 Aussie Millions where he beat 800 players to win the Main Event for more than $1.1 million. This put his total live earnings at a nice $4.98 million.
