BetMGM and Partners Become No.1 Online Poker Operators In New Jersey

BetMGM PokerCaesars in partnership with WSOP/888 has dominated the New Jersey online poker market for a long period of time with Resorts in partnership with PokerStars usually taking the second place. BetMGM Poker along with its sister sites partypoker and Borgata Poker usually end up in third place.

BetMGM Poker and its sister sites had a tremendous month in September which saw the trio of online poker operators push out Caesars and Resorts to claim the number one spot in New Jersey during September 2021.

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) released a report which showed that BetMGM Poker and its sister sites brought in over $1 million in September which enabled them to surpass Caesars and Resorts. The trio of sites saw September 2021 revenues increase by 28 percent when compared to August 2021.

What is really impressive is that the three sites have also recorded a 31 percent increase when compared to September 2020, which is a big plus for these operators given that September 2020 was a great time for online poker operators as New Jersey was in an extended lockdown due to the pandemic.

This was also the first time in 2021 when BetMGM poker was able to record a 7 figure return. This is also the first time since 2016 when BetMGM poker has been able to beat out its competitors and take the number one spot in the NJ online poker market.

WPT Borgata Online Helps Numbers

One of the main reasons that BetMGM Poker and its sister sites were able to outperform the competition in September 2021 was due to the WPT Borgata Poker Open Main Event which offered players a $1 million guaranteed prize pool.

The WPT Borgata Poker Open Main Event fell short of the 7 figure prize pool but it was still a good turnout for BetMGM and its sister sites. This is one of the main reasons why they have done well in September and have managed to get to the top of the list in New Jersey’s online poker market.

While BetMGM and its sister sites have taken the number one spot in New Jersey, the report shows that they are still way behind in terms of being the leader in cash game traffic as WSOP/888poker currently are way ahead in cash game traffic in New Jersey.
