Asian Poker Players Head To Cambodia For PokerStars APPT In May

Poker players from all over Asia are expected to make their way down to Phnom Penh, Cambodia as the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) will make a stop in May 2023.

The APPT is very popular with Asian poker players as the tour has been around since 2007 and stops are held all across Asia each year in countries like the Philippines, South Korea, Vietnam, New Zealand and Australia.

APPT Cambodia Will Take Place At NagaWorld

NagaWorld Integrated Resort will play host to APPT Cambodia and it comes as no surprise as NagaWorld is the biggest and most popular casino resort in the capital. The action will start on May 05 and will finish on May 15 with an array of exciting events take place that will cater to poker players with different bankrolls.

The highlight of APPT Cambodia will be the Main Event which has a $1,500 buy-in and a massive $400,000 guarantee in prize money. The Main Event will take place from May 12 to 15 and a strong turnout is expected. While a strong contingent of Asian players are expected at APPT Cambodia, there will also be poker players from around the world in attendance as we saw during the 2022 APPT Cambodia.

The APPT Cambodia Main Event was won by Alexander Puchalski from Canada who took home $96,028 for his first place finish and Australia’s Akshay Kapoor won second place and took home $60,884.

Top Events Taking Place At APPT Cambodia

Most of the events at APPT Cambodia are designed for low and mid-stakes players with a few events for high stakes players.

Some of the events that mid-stakes players will be excited about include the Nagaworld Kickoff which has a $350 buy-in and a $50,000 guarantee and runs from May 5 to 7; the APPT National which runs from May 7 to 10 and has a $800 buy-in and a $100,000 guarantee and the APPT Mystery Bounty event which has a $550 buy-in and a re-entry format.

High stakes Poker players will enjoy the APPT High Roller from May 14 to 15 which has a $5,000 buy-in and the APPT Cambodia Super High Roller which runs from May 10 to 11 with a $10,000 buy-in.
