888Poker’s New Game ‘Pik’em Poker’ Gets Players Excited

Last Updated on October 12, 2018 Author:Adrian Sterne

888poker is the second biggest online poker website in the world and has a massive player base that is always on the lookout for new promotions and interesting offers.

888poker hasn’t exactly been very forthcoming in rolling out new product offerings and bringing innovation to the table in the last couple of years but all that is set to change.

888Holdings that parent company of 888poker recently announced that it was going to introduce a new poker variant called ‘Pik’em Poker’ before the end of this month. This has got 888poker players excited who are looking forward to trying out the new offering and giving their feedback.

Strangely 888poker hasn’t promoted the new offering heavily nor have their shared any information as to what ‘Pik’em Poker’ is all about. Poker players are not sure if the new format will be a tournament or a cash game format and will have to keep guessing. The rumours floating around suggest that ‘Pik’em Poker’ will be offered as No Limit Hold’em in a cash game format.

It is interesting to note that there is a video poker game currently available in the market called ‘Pik’em Poker’. The game has been developed by industry leading Playtech and is a single player card game. There is a possibility that the new ‘Pik’em Poker’ variant could be based around the Playtech game.

The last time 888poker experimented with a new poker variant was when it launched “Flopomania” in August 2017. This game was offered as a cash game in a No Limit Hold’em format but did not get the response that 888poker expected. The online poker room decided to pull the game in Feb 2018 and cited business decisions for the game’s removal. 888poker would have learnt from that experiment and player feedback would have helped the online poker website to have fine-tuned its latest offering.

Poker 8 Client Launch Before Dec 2018

888Holdings also confirmed that it plans to launch a new poker client called Poker 8 before the end of this year. The Poker 8 client will be rolled out world-wide including US states where online poker is regulated.

888poker is facing stiff competition from partypoker who has come out with a number of promotions and changes in the last two years in an effort to re-establish itself as a top online poker provider. The new Poker 8 client and ‘Pik’em Poker’ should help 888poker boost its online poker offerings.
