888Poker’s $8 Million XL Eclipse Series Commences This Weekend

Poker fans have been eagerly awaiting the launch of the 888Poker XL Eclipse series. The company recently announced that the tournament will start from Sept. 10. This mega tournament will feature 197 events and is spread over 15 days. With buy-ins starting at an affordable $5 and going up to $5,200, the XL Eclipse series offers a wide variety of events to suit every poker player’s budget.

The guaranteed prize pool this year has received an increase $500,000 when compared to last year to bring XL Inferno total prize money up to $8 million. Five events that cumulatively offer $2.9 million in guarantees are the $300,000 GTD Opening Event with a buy- in of $160, the $500,000 GTD High Roller with a buy-in of $2,100, the $200,000 GTD Tune Up with a buy-in of $160, the $500,000 GTD Super High Roller Chip-In with $5,200 buy-in and finally the headlining event which is the $1,500,000 GTD Main Event which has a $1,050 buy-in.

888poker has put together events that have both big and small buy-ins to enable poker players all backgrounds to participate. Here is a mix of some of the exciting events with both big and small buy-ins. They include the $1050 Whale with guaranteed prize pool of $250,000, the $109 Lightning 6-Max for $15, 000, the $55 Saturday Challenge for $25,000, the $30 Deepstack Swordfish for $15, 000.

Interested players can qualify via online satellites running on the 888poker site with some of these having buy-ins as low as 1¢. The satellite for the XL Eclipse Main Event runs daily and will offer the top three players a $1,050 Main Event seat. The XL Eclipse $300,0000 Opening Event Qualifiers also runs daily and gives top ten winners an entry ticket to the $160 Opening Event .

Daily qualifiers are also ongoing for the XL Eclipse Mini Opening Event which awards the top 30 players a $12 ticket to the Mini Opening Event. Every XL Eclipse event winner will automatically receive a seat at the Champion of Champions Event which will be held on Sept. 26.7

The top three players will be awarded lucrative live event prize packages. Those finishing in the top 40 places will all receive a prize and the overall winner will receive a package worth $13,000 to the 2017 World Series of Poker Europe which will take place in Rozvadov, Czech Republic.

Players finishing between the 10th – 40th places will get a $55 tournament ticket, while those in the 6th – 9th ranks get a $215 tournament ticket and those finishing in 4th and 5th spot will receive a $600 ticket. The player finishing in third place will get a package for the 888Live Dublin Main Event while second-place finisher will receive a 888Live London Festival Main Event package.
