888 Poker888poker which is owned by parent company 888Holdings recently confirmed that it has once again been chosen to be the official sponsor of the 2016 World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament that will start on the 31st of May 2016 and finish on the 18th of July 2016. The WSOP will take place at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas as usual and is expected to draw thousands of poker players from all over the world.

The popular WSOP tournament has been a great platform for the 888poker brand giving it worldwide exposure and helping the company increase its brand value and image in overseas markets.

The 2016 edition will once again help put the 888poker brand in the spotlight as live streaming, ESPN broadcasting and live reporting from the WSOP.com website will help in promoting the brand.

The global poker market continues to heat up as companies continue to battle fiercely to capture market share and establish a bigger player pool. This partnership with the WSOP will further strengthen 888poker’s image in the market as one of the leading poker brands in the world.

In a statement, Itai Pazner, senior VP and head of B2C and 888 Holdings said

The World Series of Poker is the pinnacle of the poker calendar and during the Main Event the eyes of the poker world are on the action in Las Vegas. In 2015 we made dreams come true for Tommy Yates and renewing our partnership will help to get more 888 players from all over the world to the WSOP again this year. The sponsorship is fantastic for the 888poker brand, for 888 players, and for the poker community more generally.

888poker has also received exclusive rights to run WSOP satellites online and players can pay as little as $0.01 cents to see if they can qualify for the WSOP Main Event. 888poker will also look to send as many players as it can send to event 54 of the WSOP which has been nicknamed as the Crazy Eights since it will feature a $888 buy-in for what will be a no limit hold’em eight handed tournament. The event will have a coveted WSOP gold bracelet on the line as well as $888,888 in prize money to be won.

888poker sent a total of 128 players to the 2015 WSOP Main Event and had great success as one of those players, Joe McKeehen became the 2015 WSOP champion.
