The 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) live festival has officially kicked off.

Over the next six weeks, players from all over the world will compete in 95 live bracelet events, in what is expected to be another record-breaking year for the series.

Busy Opening Week and Lots of Affordable Tournaments

As usual, the opening week is pretty jam-packed, with numerous key events included in the line-up, such as the $1,000 Mystery Millions which gets underway on May 31.

The US poker tournament features four starting flights running through June 3. Day 2 is scheduled for June 4 while the final action takes place on June 5. The tournament’s winner is guaranteed to take home $1,000,000, with a top bounty of $1,000,000 also up for grabs.

Another highlight of the opening week is the prestigious Tournament of Champions. The freeroll tournament runs from May 31-June 2 and is open to winners of ring events from the 2022/23 WSOP Circuit season, as well as winners from WSOP Online and WSOP Europe.

The first high roller event of the series, a $25,000 High Roller Six-Handed No-Limit Hold’em, which is a fresh addition to the WSOP schedule, also gets underway on May 30.

Players looking to win big but have a limited bankroll will be delighted to know that they can enter the series for as little as $300. A brand-new tournament, called the Gladiators of Poker, costs $300 to enter but comes with a huge $3,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. This tournament has four Day 1 flights and kicks off on June 7.

The majority of the events on the schedule have buy-ins of $1,500 or less, so players looking for affordable tournaments will have plenty of options.

2023 WSOP Main Event Poised to Set New Record

The festival’s flagship tournament, the WSOP Main Event, is on course to create a new record this year with organizers running a series of promotions to send as many players as possible to the $10,000 buy-in tournament.

The goal is to attract the biggest field in WSOP Main Event history and that looks set to be achieved with GGPoker awarding at least 600 seats, plus 112 more to be won on WSOP.com.

If a new record is set, the WSOP will award one lucky player a Main Event ticket for the next 30 years via a drawing that takes place on July 8. That’s some life-changing prize right there!

The 2023 WSOP Main Event features four starting flights and runs from July 3-17.
