2018 World Series of PokerThe 2018 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is less than two months away and poker players from all over the world are expected to arrive in Las Vegas, Nevada to take part in what is arguably the biggest and most popular poker tournament in the world. The 2018 WSOP will once again be held in three rooms at the Rio Convention Area of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

The 2018 WSOP will take place from May 30 to July 17. Registration will open on May 29 for satellite and live action events. Players coming to the WSOP tend to have a lot of questions, especially first time players.

1. What is the deadline for Online Registration?

For those who want to register online, the deadline is two weeks from the date of the event which the player likes to participate in. Players can use a cashier’s check or wire transfer as their method of payment for the buy-in. For events with buy-ins of $10,000 or less, online registration is allowed until the registration closes, provided the player is verified via WSOP FasTrac and uses a credit card.

2. After pre-registering, how do I confirm my Tournament Entry Receipt and Seat Assignment?

Players who have pre-registered can go to the WSOP FasTrac/Total Rewards area to get verified and receive both their receipts and seat cards. This should be done one hour before their event. Players should present valid and unexpired photo IDs (passport, state IDs, driver’s license, military ID) in person to complete their registration. If a credit card was used for payment, then it should also be presented. Once the player has been verified, they can skip the above process for future registrations and can immediately get their seat cards at the WSOP FasTrac kiosk for future events.

3. Can I play in the WSOP if I am below 21 years?

The WSOP only accepts players who are 21 years and older. Nevada Gaming Regulations set this as the minimum age for playing. There will also be a Seniors Event that will require players to be at least 50 years old. A Super Seniors Event is also available for those older than 60 years old.

4. Does the Ladies Event allow men to play?

The Ladies event is designed for women, but men can still play. The entry fee will be $10,000. For female players, they will only have to pay $1,000.

5. Are spectators welcome at the WSOP?

Everyone is free to observe the WSOP events. This is free of charge. However, they must at least be 21 years of age to enter the tournament areas.
